Stories that resonate

CBUS PROPERTY | 140 PERTH | MAARAKOOL

“Stories The Resonate” is a public art project commissioned by Cbus Property at 140 Perth. It has presented an opportunity for all project stakeholders to embrace the opportunity to listen and learn about Whadjuk Noongar Country, culture and community, including the traditional significance of 140 Perth’s location.

At the core of the project is the creation of two major mural installations by talented Western Australian artists, Kambarni and
Marcia McGuire. The murals, located in 140 Perth’s Railway Lane and Globe Lane, create a powerful acknowledgement of Noongar culture with Perth’s pulsing City hub. The works are the culmination of indepth consultation guided by cultural advisors, Barry McGuire and Carol Innes, walking alongside project partners to position 140 Perth as a place of transition, shifting energy and a place where all can stand.

“Stories That Resonate” is supported by an immersive creative program, Maarakool (translation: with the hands), located in a
purpose-build art space within the heart of 140 Perth. The program features artist talks and tours, a co-creation mural and artist-led printmaking workshops.
